Teas from another Planet

Although we Indians extensively love and drink tea, we seldom experiment with the various varieties of teas out there. For instance, a regular masala milky tea drinker may only like to drink a masala milky tea whenever tea is offered. The drinker may not ‘appreciate’ other varieties such as White tea or Oolong; as these varieties do not provide the same tangible experience as milky masala tea - to that person.
What is interesting to note is that each tea provides a certain experience and the best way for a tea lover to feel this is to try out as many varieties as possible and gradually communicate or flow in with the tea to see what type of experience is being manifested.
For instance, milky masala tea is known to provide a sudden burst of inspiration and energy while a black Darjeeling tea is known to provide a refreshing and relaxing experience owing to the fruity aroma and taste.
Knowing these subtle differences in tea characteristics, will enable the tea lover to choose each tea wisely depending upon the experience being sought. Therefore, tea lovers should widen their respective 'tea experience' vocabulary by sampling as many teas as possible for them to choose an appropriate tea for a particular need.
At Brooke Bond Taj Mahal tea House, we not only have a wide variety of teas to offer, but we also use our global expertise and category knowledge to craft a variety of amazing innovations and fusion teas to give you a truly out of this world experience.
Here are some 7 wondrous teas out of this world that we recommend you to try out on your next visit to theTea House!
Spiced Tea Toddy Style
A toddy is a drink, originating in India in the 1600s, consisting of a liquor (presently whiskey), hot water, sugar and spices that was famously used by the British to cure a common cold. Our TMTH variant combines our tea (not whiskey!) with various spices, honey and a floating orange peel to give you a hot drink to be savoured especially during monsoons and the winter. The Smoky Mountain tea used in this drink is a black tea that has absorbed a smoky flavour from bamboo wood slowly burned within its proximity. This smoked & woody flavour combines beautifully with the other hot ingredients to give you a beverage that’s invigorating and remarkable.
Kaffir Leaf Chai
We all know that adding a dash of lemon to a non-milky black or green tea gives a wonderful twist to the tea drinkers’ palate. However, have you ever imagined imparting this lemon taste to a milky tea without any problems of milk curdling? At TMTH, we have made this possible by creating a delightful golden coloured Assam milky tea laden with coriander, white pepper, a bit of red chilli and of course, Kaffir Lime Leaf, that imparts a signature tangy taste to a spicy tea making this item a real show stopper!
Gulkhand Paan Chai
In this part of the world, we all love a paan after a meal. For a change, we recommend you try our TMTH Gulkhand Paan Chai. In this recipe, we have combined an Assam milky tea with Gulkand (Sweetened Rose petals), coriander, white pepper, cumin seeds, and red chilli to give you a spectacular paan flavoured spicy tea. The Gulkand in the tea is known to improve digestion and so like any 'Meetha Paan', this Gulkand Chai is great as a post meal beverage.
Silver Needles and Berries
Silver Needles is another term for White tea as the individual tea leaves look like them. Globally, this tea is normally consumed on its own. However, at TMTH, we have infused some strawberries and blueberries with the Darjeeling white tea to give a Deep Red coloured beverage. Further, while you take a sip of the tea, you can also chew on the floating berries to give you a fantastic tea and berry taste.
Matcha Dessert Chai
Matcha tea is a powdered green tea from Japan. Unlike the traditional green tea where only the brewed infusion is had, Matcha tea is consumed in its entirety along with the water that it is brewed in. As Matcha tea is consumed, its health benefits are therefore manyfold compared to traditional infused green leaf tea. In this preparation, we have created a vibrant milky green coloured dessert with hints of ginger and cardamom topped with dollops of Matcha Cream. For traditional black tea drinkers, this unusual Matcha Green tea taste will surely surprise you at first, but will grow on you over time! This is truly an admirable contender for an 'out of this world’ tea experience.
Moka Dessert Chai
'Moka' is derived from Mocha, a city in Yemen, that used to be a major trading area of coffee from the 15th century till the 18th century AD. As this particular dessert-based tea has hints of coffee in it, we have prefixed this famous city’s name to it.
In some tea houses, we may find options called 'Chafee' that are blends of 'tea and Coffee' served as one preparation. At TMTH we have curated a lovely thick Assam milky tea topped up with luscious coffee cream! In addition, we have also added a crisp roasted coffee bean to this chai for you to chew on while you sip the tea. A true 'best of both worlds' experience!

Mountain Apple Lemonade
This is an amazing cold drink made using Darjeeling Green tea, apple syrup, and a twist of Karipatta added to a soda base to give you a refreshingly tangy iced tea drink. This drink is bound to transport you to the chill of the hilly slopes, where the tea is grown, to cool you on a hot summer’s day!
